My review of the movie "I am Mother"

I am Mother is unlike a movie you’ve ever watched before. The title is very unassuming, but it cleverly uncovers its meaning when you watch it for an hour.

The movie’s premise is set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world where no human exists. Just a robot mother trying to make an embryo in a lab facility come alive. Eventually, the girl grows up in the facility, never going outside, but being taught about every subject in the world by her robot mother, be it history, ethics or biology ranging into surgery. Yes, she’s the only human left on the world technically, but she doesn’t know it yet.

I felt like that’s exactly where our world is headed. Only the best humans will survive, but I can never imagine growing up in complete isolation with no friends or parks. Who knows how the last human will survive? It makes you think.
